RBC Talent Hub at the Saint Mary’s University Entrepreneurship Centre

 A new partnership between Saint Mary’s University and the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) will create new co-operative education positions and expand entrepreneurial coaching, skill building and mentoring for Saint Mary’s students.

Starting Point Student Entrepreneurship Conference

February 19-21 Starting Point brings together student entrepreneurs from across Canada to learn from industry experts, hear from amazing speakers and win money for their businesses!

New Product Competition

Starts February 22 Over the course of two months, you and your team will create a new product that serves as a customer experience solution for retailers. You are tasked with developing a minimum viable product (MVP) and bringing it to market.

Food Hack Nova Scotia

March 9 – 10  This two-day hackathon will bring together one hundred students to tackle food-based challenges facing Nova Scotia. This Spark Zone event is open to all students from SMU, NSCC, NSCAD, Mount Saint Vincent University, Atlantic School of Theology, and the University of King’s College

The Runway

Are you an entrepreneur looking to test new products and grow your enterprise? The Runway provides local businesses the opportunity to promote and grow their enterprises at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Funder Speed Dating

More than 30 students from all faculties participated in the Funder Speed Dating pitch competition.  Each student delivered a one-minute pitch to five different judges. The top three ideas were awarded cash prizes of $2,000, $1000, and $750.

Growth Matters

Growth Matters is a new coaching program offered by the SMUEC. We are offering coaching packages to select companies with growth potential to help them make decisions around how to approach new opportunities or deal with nagging problems.

Our coaches use a custom assessment, and coaching tools from Growth Wheel International, to move your business forward.

The Options Youth Program is an employment wage subsidy program, facilitated by the Saint Mary’s University Entrepreneurship Centre and funded by Service Canada. We provide a significant wage subsidy to employers to assist their hiring of priority youth in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

The objectives of Options Youth are to help employers cover the cost of training while helping priority youth (age 15-30) overcome multiple barriers to employment, and develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make a successful transition to the labour market or return to school.
